QC Games is looking for a seasoned Technical Artist to collaborate with the Animation and Character teams to optimize content and workflows

Responsibilities

  • Support the Animation and Character Art teams with skeletal rigs and skinning

  • Setup skin weighs to define ideal deformation

  • R&D new technologies related to rigging and skinning modular character systems

  • Optimize both content and workflows

  • Create and maintain existing toolsets and pipelines

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the games industry, including hands on experience working on skinning and rigging of modular characters, with at least one shipped title

  • Demonstrable proficiency with Maya, Photoshop, Substance products

  • Working knowledge of Unreal Engine 4

  • Demonstrable technical trouble shooting abilities

  • Solid knowledge Maya scripting with Python and MEL

  • Excellent understanding of the technical side of game development

  • Strong understanding of animation and skinning pipelines

  • Strong understanding of anatomy and kinematics.

  • Strong understanding of the principals of animation and its technical aspects for games

  • Pluses:

  • C++, C#, Javascript, or other programming knowledge

  • Motionbuilder experience

  • Interest in developing highly procedural rigging solutions

  • Current gen console development experience
