QC Games, an independent video game developer located in Austin, is looking for a passionate, creative, and organized Marketing Director to lead our growing marketing team. As a direct report to our Chief Creative Officer, the Marketing Director will be responsible for executing all global marketing and communications plans for QC Games and our soon-to-be announce first game.


  • Directing the execution of QC Games marketing and communications initiatives, including product launches, campaigns, public relations, social and community presence, sales collateral, tradeshows, internal communications, company websites, and corporate happenings and events

  • Owning, establishing, and driving a strategic communications strategy (both internal and external) that positively affects consumers - as well as employee engagement, commitment, and understanding

  • Building and managing our marketing team and relationships with external agencies to generate high-quality branding materials and content

  • Developing and building QC Games product brands

  • Assembling, managing and optimizing the QC Games marketing budget

  • Developing and implementing overall marketing and communication programs - collaborating with key stakeholders in development and executive staff to ensure buy-in and timely execution

  • Managing relationships and contract negotiations with external partners and third parties - including 1st party publishing platforms as well as creative, PR/communication, media and research/consumer insight agencies

  • NOTE: Domestic and International travel will be needed as required


  • 10+ years of experience in video game marketing, communications, or related fields

  • 2-3+ years of experience in managing a marketing or communications team

  • Proficiency with business-related software, including Microsoft Office, Confluence/Jira, Google App suite and production tools

  • Healthy business analytics, strategic development, project management, consumer research, relationship management, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent understanding of digital strategy and proven ability to execute campaigns across social and online - including experience with influencers and tastemakers

  • Ability to translate campaign results into actionable insights and optimization - including developing key KPI and ROI metrics/dashboards

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail

  • Creative and critical thinking skills

  • Strong self-motivation and work ethic

  • A team-focused outlook with a high degree of tact and diplomacy


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related fields

  • A passion for gaming

  • A deep knowledge of Online RPGs, MMOs, MOBAs

  • Previous experience on a "Game as a Service” or session-based game titles
